FAQ & Warranty
How do I clean my stone?
Although stone is solid and durable, it's recommended to use a light touch while cleaning. Spray with a garden hose to clean. If needed, use a solution of mild detergent and water and lightly scrub stone surface with a soft bristle brush. Rinse throughly to remove any cleaning solution. Do not use wire brushes, acids, vinegar or pressure washers.
Why does my stone appear darker than the sample?
We produce durable concrete products, which require a curing process. You may notice stones having a darker appearance than a sample. The packaged stone has moisture and needs to aerate in the sunlight for about 7 days. Rainy, cloudy or high-humidity climates may require more time.
As the moisture in the stone equalizes, the overall color will lighten. Dark colors-grey, deep brown, and black-display the most drastic color changes as they normalize and cure.
Most installations require multiple boxes of products, which may be at varied stages of curing. It is common for the same stone and color palette to display a range of shades. In this way, manufactured stone exhibits the natural and diverse tints found in natural stone.
Limestone - Pennsylvania before cured, appears darker.
Limestone - Pennsylvania after cured has lightened to intended color.

Do samples represent exact color ratios?
No, we show all the colors represented in the color palette. Due to the smaller size of the samples, we can't completely show accurate color ratios. The handmade process of coloring each stone creates slight variations in colors, similar to those found in nature.
Can I install Stack-A-Stone products near water?
It is not advisable to install Stack-A-Stone products below a water line. Like any lightweight concrete product, exposure to chemicals such as chlorine can lead to discoloration and fading over time. Stack-A-Stone strongly advises against using stone veneer in areas with cascading water, such as swimming pools or water fountains, even if a sealer has been applied. The constant flow of water can accelerate wear and tear on stone veneer, and such installations are not covered under Stack-A-Stone's warranty.
